Midas reports rise in earnings

ITASCA -- Midas Inc., an automotive service provider, reported net earnings of $3 million, or 21 cents per diluted share, for the second quarter ended June 30, 2007. In the second quarter of 2006, Midas' net earnings were $2.6 million, or 17 cents per diluted share. For the six months of 2007, Midas reported net income of $5.2 million, or 35 cents per diluted share, compared to $6.4 million and 41 cents per diluted share a year ago.

Molex reports revenue increase

LISLE -- Molex Inc., a global electronic components company, Wednesday reported revenue for the 2007 fourth quarter ended June 30, 2007, at $791.8 million, a 1 percent increase over the same period last fiscal year. Net income for the June quarter was $32.7 million, or 18 cents per share. This compares with net income of $70.5 million, or 38 cents per share in the prior year quarter. Revenue for the twelve months ended June 30, 2007, was $3.27 billion, an increase of 14.1 percent compared with the prior fiscal year.
