RC2 net income drops 73 percent
OAK BROOK -- RC2 Corp.'s net income for the second quarter plummeted 73 percent on the cost of a recall of its wooden toy trains and weak sales in the pre-school sector, the Oak Brook company reported Wednesday.RC2 reported net income of $2.4 million, or 11 cents per diluted share, in the quarter ended June 30, down sharply from the $9.1 million, or 43 cents per diluted share, reported for the same period a year ago. The results werefar below the 45 cents that analysts had forecast.
