Let's find truth about push for war

If America wants the truth behind the reasons to invade Iraq, why doesn't it insist on access to the Energy Task Force minutes, a meeting convened by the vice president well before the invasion?

It could resolve the bitter controversy that still hovers over this issue for more than four years. In fact, most people in this country believe that Iraqi oil reserves lies at the bottom of this reservoir of conflict. The unfettered access to petroleum without hindrance by Middle Eastern religious and political turmoil was, arguably, the motive to go to war.

Probably, in his deliberations before the CEOs of our major oil companies, Dick Cheney may have revealed his plan to pursue the holy grail of guaranteed profits for this industry as well as for himself. The only way this should be resolved would be to recall those executives before a congressional committee, administer the oath, and finally get to the truth.

No doubt, George W. Bush would declare another executive privilege to prevent attendees from testifying since it could reveal plans for war well before 9/11.

This must not happen!

Shouldn't this country finally know the reasons for unilaterally declaring a war, with or without British help, which has cost us so much with so little in return?
