Friends and relatives of a Deerfield girl killed in a car accident last week will remember her during a service Monday.

The memorial service for Gina Bronge, 15, will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 724 Elder Lane, Deerfield.

Additionally, a hockey scholarship has been created to honor Gina, an enthusiastic player. Donations to the Gina Bronge Memorial Scholarship fund can be sent to the Falcons Hockey Association, P.O. Box 391, Highland Park, IL 60035.

Gina, the daughter of Mundelein police Sgt. Joe Bronge, died in a two-vehicle crash in Deerfield on July 24. The crash happened when a Hyundai Tiburon turning from Waukegan Road onto Kates Road struck the Jeep Wrangler in which Gina was riding, police said. She was not wearing a seat belt.

No tickets have been issued as authorities continue investigating the crash.
