And this was a good idea because...?

While we're on the subject of truly bad ideas, why did anyone think for a minute that it might be constructive innovation for the College of Lake County to fill its president's vacancy from the ranks of its board members?

Talk about an inherent conflict and a shift in roles that would be beyond awkward. Fortunately, board President William Griffin removed his name from consideration Thursday. Why it took Griffin that long to see the problem is another matter.
