Carpentersville police arrest 2 in sexual assaults
Carpentersville police arrested two men in connection with two separate incidents of sexual assaults.
Vincent Michael Bonanata, 22, of 808 E. Wood St., Bloomington, Ill., was charged with three counts of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl on March 26-27 on Carpentersville's west side, police said Friday.
Devalius W. McDonald, 52, of 14 Oxford Drive #17, Carpentersville was charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault, police said.
His victim was a 35-year-old woman who is mentally challenged, police said.
McDonald had threatened to throw the woman out of his apartment and leave her with no place to stay if she didn't have sex with him on Wednesday, according to a police report.
Bonds for Bonanata was set at $50,000. McDonald's bond was set at $40,000.
Neither man was able to post his bond and both were taken to the Kane County jail.
Each man is scheduled to appear in court next on Aug. 10 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
