Trial date delayed for Kildeer man accused of molesting boys

Trial delayed: The trial date for a Kildeer man accused of molesting four boys at the Lincolnshire Bath and Tennis Club in 2005 was set back Monday in Lake County Circuit Court. Paul Olsson, 20, of 21230 W. Laurel Lane, was originally supposed to go on trial Oct. 1 for predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and aggravated criminal sexual abuse. But Assistant State's Attorney Veronica O'Malley told Circuit Judge Fred Foreman the Lincolnshire police officer who took Olsson's confession would not be available for court that week. Foreman set a new date of Oct. 22 for the trial. Olsson faces up to 60 years in prison if convicted.

Fall registration coming:

Child safety info:

State police will check for the proper installation of child safety seats as part of a free event today, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Lake Forest Oasis on the Tri-State tollway. Certified technicians will also provide information on recalls, and recall detection, correct positioning and sizing and other aspects. State Police District 15 also will be demonstrate the importance of wearing safety belts with its rollover simulator, which duplicates a 30 mph rollover accident.

Engineer named to state group: The Illinois Society of Professional Engineers has named M. Gregory Goldbogen, PE, of Antioch and an engineer with Lake County Public Works Department, the group's vice president for 2007-08. The Illinois Society of Professional Engineers was established in 1886 as a professional association representing more than 2,500 engineers from all fields of practice.
