Man charged with sexual assault of girlfriend

A 27-year-old Elgin man was arrested Friday and charged with sexual abuse crimes that occurred while he lived "off and on" with his 14-year-old girlfriend and her mother for about 18 months, police said Monday.

Price Bridges, who gave his address as 216 Villa St., Elgin, was charged Monday with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, police said.

On Friday, the victim's mother filed a complaint, apparently after she had argued with Bridges, police said.

She said Bridges had lived on occasion with her and her daughter in the apartment on Belmont Avenue, according to police.

Bridges insisted he never had sex with the girl, police said.

The victim said Bridges knew her age and that they had consensual sex about four or five times between March 7 and July, police said.

Bond for Bridges was set at $7,500 and he was taken to the Kane County jail.

His next court date set for the Kane County Judicial Center is on Aug. 9.
