Supplies sought for students in need

There are many children in Lake County who arrive to their first day of public school without the supplies they need.

The One For All Coalition, in conjunction with the Lindenhurst Early Childhood Center, the Open Arms Mission Food Pantry and the 100% Foundation, is sponsoring a school supply collection, to benefit children in Lake County that need assistance with fulfilling their school supply lists.

As a part of its Character Counts Program, Lindenhurst Early Childhood Center's summer camp children will be assembling boxes of supplies at the Open Arms Mission at 10 a.m. Aug. 2 and will deliver the boxes to The Foster Care Division of Department of Child and Family Services in Lake County, the Open Arms Mission, and the Lake Villa and Antioch school districts.

The following supplies are needed:

•Crayons (eight fat and 64 regular)

•Erasers

•Markers

•Folders

•Pencils

•Pencil Boxes

•Elmer's glue

•Pens

•Glue sticks

•Paper

•Rulers

•Scotch tape

•Small pencil sharpeners

•Spiral notebooks

•Fiskar scissors

•Small backpacks

These supplies can be brought to the following locations.

•The Lindenhurst Early Childhood Center, 309 Granada Blvd., Lindenhurst.

•The Open Arms Mission at 1548 S. Main St., Antioch; Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

•A To Z Rental at 1530 S. Main St., Antioch.

•Lindenhurst Village Hall, 2301 E. Sand Lake Road, Lindenhurst.

•Lake Villa Village Hall, 65 Cedar Ave., Lake Villa.

•Antioch Village Hall, 874 Main St., Antioch.
