Suggested items for Operation Support Our Troops

The dental office of Dr. Nancy A. Bagel is collecting items for Operation Support Our Troops, Illinois, to be sent to members of the armed forces. Items may be dropped off during business hours through July 31 at the office, 177 W. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Suggested items for donation include:

•Canned Fruit (16-ounce)

•Crackers (standard 14.4-ounce box)

•Beef jerky/Slim Jims

•Nuts in a 20-ounce or less container (no glass)

•Pringles (in a tall canister)

•Jelly (20-ounce or less; plastic containers only)

•Peanut butter (20-ounce or less)

•Shaving cream

•Deodorant

•Hand lotion (no pump tops)

•Hand sanitizer (no pump tops)

•Body wash (16-ounce or smaller -- no bars of soap)

•Foot Powder (20-ounce or less)

•Socks (black or white men's crew socks)

•Cold drink mix for bottled water (such as Crystal Lite To Go) and powered Gatorade

•Coffee (tea bag style of coffee or packets such as from a hotel) or 1 lb. ground coffee

•Unscented baby wipes

•Bug spray (non aerosol)

•Fly strips

•Fly swatters (short handles are best for shipping)

•Sunscreen
