Potter costume party:

The wait is almost over.

After months of anticipation, the day Harry Potter fans around the world is nearly here.

At 12:01 a.m. Saturday, the final installment in the Potter series -- "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" -- will be released nationwide.

As a way to celebrate the release, and hopefully make the wait a little less agonizing, the Barrington Area Library is hosting a Harry Potter costume party from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. The party will be held in the meeting room.

Besides encouraging everyone to dress up as their favorite Harry Potter character, the party will also include trivia contests and magical crafts. The party is open to all ages.

The Harry Potter fun at the library continues the following week with a program for kids going into grades two and up called "Magic for Muggles."

During the program, the kids will be taught some simple magic tricks and each will receive a special bag of tricks and magical wand.
