The first meeting of the Northwest Suburban Italian American Club will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 6 in the North Hendrickson Room of the Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 500 N. Free books offered to high schoolers

The Indian Trails Public Library District at 355 S. Schoenbeck Road, Wheeling, is offering all Buffalo Grove, Stevenson and Wheeling high school students a free book while supplies last.

The library is giving out free copies of the school's required summer reading books to students who join the Summer Reading program. The last day to register is Aug. 12.
