Golden Diners welcomes seniors

Golden Diners

The Salvation Army Golden Diners program is open to all those who are age 60 and older. Suggested donation is $2.75.

Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. at the Salvation Army at 1710 S. Seventh Ave., in St. Charles (630) 377-2769; at 437 E. Galena Blvd., Aurora (630) 897-7265; and at Riverain Point Apartments, 200 N. Island Ave., Batavia (630) 879-1790.

Meals can also be delivered. To reserve a meal, call the site by 9 a.m. the day before.

Friday

Turkey pasta salad, tomato and lettuce garnish, Mandarin salad, wheat bread, strawberry mousse.

Monday

Barbecue riblet, diced red potatoes, parslied cauliflower, sliced wheat bun, pineapple tidbits.

Tuesday

Beef barley soup, parslied carrots, peas and onions, wheat bread, cantaloupe.

Wednesday

Oven-fried chicken drumstick, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, wheat bread, chocolate chip oatmeal cookie.

Thursday

Egg salad, lettuce and tomato, mixed-bean vinaigrette, sliced wheat bun, chilled apricot.

July 27

Mostaciolli and meat sauce, Italian mixed vegetables, French bread, ranger cookie.

July 30

Chopped steak with mushrooms, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, wheat bread, fruit cup.

July 31

Chicken salad, lettuce and tomato garnish, summer vegetable marinade, multigrain bread, chilled pears.
