Chamber gets ready for annual golf outing
Carol Stream Chamber of Commerce's annual Golf Classic -- for golfers of all levels -- begins with registration at 10:30 a.m. July 24 at Klein Creek Golf Club, 1N333 Pleasant Hill Road, Winfield.
"I've been told by several that it's the golf event to go to in DuPage County," said Luanne Triolo, Carol Stream Chamber's executive director. "It's the best."
This chamber fundraiser is an excellent way for businesses to get their names out in the community.
"It's definitely a networking event," Triolo said. "And it's a great time for the golfers."
Even those who don't plan to golf are invited to attend the awards dinner and raffle, which begin at 6:30 p.m. The cocktail hour is at 5:30 p.m.
"Golf chair John Wheeler always makes the raffle fun and interesting," Triolo said.
Registration begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch at 11 a.m. and a shotgun start at noon. Even golfers with their own foursome can join with a group of other golfers.
The fees are $160 for golf and lunch; $190 for golf, lunch and dinner; or $45 for dinner only. Registration may be made online at www.carolstreamchamber.com or by calling Triolo at (630) 665-3325.
All golfers are eligible for a chair massage offered by Linda Keen of Carol Stream's Massage Clinique and a complimentary photo of their foursome by Jeremiah Jackson of Moments In Time By Jeremiah.
With this being its biggest and best chamber fundraiser of the entire year, the chamber is counting on support from volunteers and businesses for its success.
"This is one of the few fundraisers that keep the chamber going," Triolo said.
Hole sponsorship is available for $125 for bronze, $250 for silver, $500 for gold or $1,500 for premiere.
Volunteers are needed for shifts from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m.; 10:30 a.m. to noon; 11:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; 2 to 5 p.m.; 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.; or 7 to 8 p.m.
Donations for the raffle or amenity bags will be appreciated as well. These may be dropped off at the chamber office, 150 S. Gary Ave., in the Holiday Inn or can be picked up by contacting Triolo at the above number.
