Family plans memorial services for Ehlenfeldts in Buffalo Grove

Memorial services in English and in Spanish have been scheduled this week for the victims of the slayings at Brown's Chicken & Pasta in Palatine. A memorial service is set for today for the slain Arlington Heights couple who owned the restaurant.
The service for Lynn A. Ehlenfeldt, 49, and Richard E Ehlenfeldt, 50, is the first funeral for the seven victims massacred Friday night at the restaurant. It will be at 11 a.m. at Kingswood United Methodist Church, 410 W. Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove, where the couple and their three daughters were active members.
A memorial service in Spanish for Guadalupe Maldonado will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Santa Teresita Catholic Church, 35 W. Wood St. in Palatine.
Visitation also will be today for three other victims.
Visitation for Palatine High School students Michael Castro, 16, and Rico L. Solis, 17, who were friends, will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.
A wake for Marcus Nellsen, 31, will be from 3 to 9:30 p.m. today at the Montclair-Lucama Chapel, 6901 Belmont Ave., Chicago. Services for the victims are scheduled throughout the week.
A Mass will be said for Castro at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Theresa Catholic Church on Wood Street in Palatine. Castro, a Palatine resident, will be buried at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
Another wake for Nellsen is scheduled from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Willow Creek Community Church, which he attended regularly.
The church is at 67 E. Algonquin Road, South Barrington. A funeral will be at noon Wednesday at the church, and he will be buried at Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights.
Also on Wednesday, visitation for Thomas Mennes, 32, of Palatine will be from 6 to 9 p m. at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home in Palatine. A Mass will be said for Mennes at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 1152 E Anderson Drive, Palatine.
A Mass for Solis of Arlington Heights will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery.
Visitation for Maldonado, 47, a cook at the Brown's restaurant, tentatively is planned for Friday in his native city, Leon, Mexico A funeral tentatively is scheduled for Saturday also in Leon. Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home in Palatine is handling the arrangements locally.
