    The latest addition to Rosemont’s entertainment district is now officially open for business. Sugar Factory American Brasserie has started serving such delectable dishes as red velvet pancakes and King Kong sundaes, and cocktails such as smoking candy goblets and cotton candy cosmopolitans. “We have over 120 reservations for Friday and Saturday night,” said Anna Finnegan, the restaurant’s general manager. “Now that the word is out, we’re preparing for the big time this weekend.”

    A man who resided ina Schiller Park motel pleaded guilty to robbing the a Rosemont hotel guest and several Schiller Park businesses earlier this year. In exchange for his guilty pleas, Robin Wolves, 30, was sentenced to eight years in prison.

     
  • New Rosemont law aims to keep some financial information secret Nov 13, 2014 6:12 AM
    Rosemont wants to keep certain information about the operation of its convention center, arena and theater from being released to the public because officials say it would put them at a competitive disadvantage to private entities. The village board Wednesday unanimously approved an ordinance that provides for the “protection of confidential financial and proprietary information” about village-owned entertainment venues from public disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act.

    Following the popularity of the Jack Daniel’s Club inside Allstate Arena, a similar Budweiser-themed lounge is being planned for the Rosemont entertainment and sports venue. A room on the south end of the stadium’s first floor that’s currently used as a lounge, but sometimes as storage space, will be converted to the new Budweiser lounge.

    A crash on eastbound I-90 near Mannheim Road is causing traffic to back up past the Arlington Heights Road exit. The accident is blocking the right lane at mile marker 76.7, according to the Illinois Tollway Trip 90 twitter account.
