Choral singers interested in joining the Elgin Master Chorale are invited to attend an open rehearsal Tuesday, Jan. 16. It will provide prospective chorale members an opportunity to sing with the area's premier large chorus in a rehearsal of selections from Mozart's "Requiem" and Vivaldi's "Gloria," two works the Elgin Master Chorale will perform in February with the Elgin Symphony Orchestra.

The National Road Safety Foundation and the organizers of the Chicago Auto Show are asking area teens for help getting the word out about the dangers of distracted driving, which is responsible for more than 3,300 traffic fatalities every year.
