    Consistent with a regional trend among community colleges, Harper College will ask its students to dig a little deeper into their pockets for the cost of a high education. The board of trustees last week unanimously approved increasing tuition by $2 per credit hour beginning in the summer 2013 term. For a full-time student taking 30 credit hours annually, that’s an additional $60 for a total of $3,735.

    Huntley couple donates land to McHenry County College Nov 16, 2012 12:00 AM
    John and Margaret Tures of Huntley donated a 9.7-acre parcel off Island Road in Chemung, 22 miles west of the Crystal Lake campus of McHenry County College, that will be used for educational and outdoor laboratory work by the college's biology, earth science and horticulture departments. The land, appraised at $30,000, was donated to the Friends of MCC Foundation, which turned it over to the college.

    Paranormal researcher Cindy Heinen of Harvard won't say she believes in ghosts. What she will say, though, is that she's had plenty of weird experiences that she can't quite explain. Heinen, the director-elect of the Society for Anomalous Studies, taught a class called "Investigating Ghosts and Hauntings" with fellow society members Saturday at McHenry County College.
