Fox Valley Beaux Arts celebrates scholarship winners

Members and guests of Fox Valley Beaux Arts celebrated the talent of eight high school seniors from the Fox Valley.

"Taste of Talent" was held at the Elgin Country Club on May 2, where guests enjoyed the talents of the scholarship winners.

The winners included from Larkin High School, Citlali Vargas, vocalist, and Noah Zuniga, saxophonist; from South Elgin High School, Emily Gallagher, cellist, Madelyn Dux, cellist and Alejandra Montoya, ceramics; from Bartlett High School, Cody Miller, photography and Megan Moore, photography; and from Westminster Christian in Elgin, Brynn Maxwell, dance.

These students will be pursuing a major in the arts when attending college in the fall.

A total of $16,500 in scholarships was awarded with an additional $6,000 to be given to the second tier of winners from last year who will still be carrying an arts major in their Sophomore year.

Fox Valley Beaux Arts holds its annual style show luncheon in September from which funds are raised for these scholarships.
