Special Olympics Messenger to Speak at Lake Zurich Rotary Friday

Clair Grothe, who has won awards in basketball, track & field and floor hockey, is a specially trained Messenger who speaks to groups around the area about Special Olympics. She will be joined by Katelin Sheppard, Region B Manager of Sports.

They will speak at the Friday March 9 meeting at 12:15 at the Foglia YMCA, 1025 N. Old McHenry Rd., Lake Zurich.

Members and guests will also be able to volunteer for the event the Rotary Club manages at the Special Olympics Spring Games, the baseball and tennis ball throw. The Games take place on Sunday May 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers are needed to register participants, manage the throw lanes and give awards.
