Judson University Choir prepares for fall tour

Members of the Judson University Choir will embark on a six-city performance tour soon, and they will do it in three days.

The 40-member choir, including vocalists and musicians, will travel along with choir director Warren Anderson to cities in Minnesota and Wisconsin, starting Sunday, Nov. 5, through Tuesday, Nov. 7.

During that time, the choir will sing at area assemblies, serve in food pantries and minister at nearby ministries and missions. Some churches are the home churches for current students and alumni. Concerts performed by the choir are open to the public.

On Sunday, Nov. 5, the choir will travel to Woodbury Baptist Church, 6695 Upper Afton Road, in Woodbury, Minnesota. Choir members will sing during the 9:30 a.m. service. This will be the choir's third visit. www.woodburybaptist.org.

That evening, the choir will travel to Poplar, Wis., to Mission Covenant Church, 5161 S. County Road P in Poplar, Wisconsin, the home church of Music Business and Entrepreneurship senior Josiah Vik. They will sing in the 6 p.m. service. This is the choir's second visit to this church. missioncovenantchurch.org.

On Monday, Nov. 6, choir members will visit the Feed My Starving Children site, 401 93rd Ave. NW in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. They will spend time serving together there beginning at 2:30 p.m. www.fmsc.org.

Afterward, on Monday evening, they will travel to St. Paul, Minnesota, to serve meals and sing during the chapel service at Union Gospel Mission, 77 E. 9th St., St. Paul, Minnesota at 5:30 p.m. www.ugmtc.org.

At 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, the choir will visit Concordia Academy, 2400 N. Dale St., Roseville, Minnesota and spend time there speaking with students. www.concordiaacademy.com

Tuesday afternoon, the choir tour will close with a performance at Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church, 720 E. Madison Ave. in Milton, Wisconsin, at 4 p.m.

At that time, the choir will sing for the church's annual pre-Thanksgiving all-church dinner. This church is the home church of choir member Gariel Ochs, Judson Music Ambassador Ben Calhoun, and his dad, the former senior pastor, the Rev. George Calhoun.
