Wego Drama to present murder mystery dinner

Wego Drama at West Chicago Community High School will host "Café Murder," a benefit murder-mystery dinner, a funny and interactive evening for the whole family that engages audience members as the detectives.

The show will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the school, 326 Joliet St., West Chicago. It will benefit Broadway Cares, an organization that raises money to fight HIV/AIDS and help those diagnosed.

Staff members said they are eager to present the show.

"This story is perfect for us to do. It is fun and silly," said Alexia Gountanis, vice president for events.

Ken Correa added, "The audience will really love this: food and a show - what could be better?"

Ricky Gieser concluded, "I can't wait to bring the show to life because it is for a cause that is so worthy. Broadway Cares helps AIDS victims, women's health care, cancer patients, and even hurricane relief. We are excited to be a part of the larger theatrical world."

Tickets are $15 and available by advance purchase only at wegotheatre.com.

The company of actors and crew for the show includes Ryan Castiglia, Kenneth Correa, Andres Espinoza, Ricky Gieser, Sammy Incrocci and Nora Zamora from Carol Stream; Grecia Bahena, Nathan Bradley, Abby Carr, Alexia Gountanis, Megan Kordik, Noemi Lara, Evy McLean, Jose "Rudy" Muñoz and Grace Schumann from West Chicago; and David Brown, Emily Carroso, Amber Dotson, Abbie Lundblad and Neve Ryan from Winfield.

The show is directed by Mark Begovich. Scenic design and technical direction is by Chris Jensen. Hair and makeup design is by Jamie Elza.
