Research colloquium to feature local literacy teacher and researcher

Judson University's Division of Education will host an hour-long research colloquium at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, in the Creekside South Education Building, 1151 N. State St., Elgin.

The department sponsors two such events each academic year as part of a series called, "And the Research Suggests …".

The colloquia are one hour in length and provide opportunities to engage with current research being conducted in the field of literacy. These events are free and open to the public.

The upcoming colloquium will feature Dr. Kierstin Thompson, a local high school literature teacher and literacy researcher. She will present her research entitled, "Barriers and Bridges: Critical Whiteness and Literature Instruction."

No registration is required for this free event.
