Avenues to Independence Board Member and Park Ridge Native to ride 1000 Miles for Fundraiser

Park Ridge, IL- Avenues to Independence Board Member and long-time supporter Matt Coyne is truly going the distance to help raise awareness and funds for Avenues to Independence. Matt is looking to complete his "Avenues 1000" motorcycle ride and will attempt to travel 1000 miles in 24 hours on his Honda CB1100.

Matt and his riding partner and brother-in-law Martin Lewandowski, will begin the ride on June 27 from Park Ridge and will travel through parts of Michigan and Wisconsin. Matt will be following the guidelines put in place by The Iron Butt Association and fans and supporters can follow his progress on the Avenues to Independence Facebook page.

Matt has been involved with Avenues to Independence for nearly 3 decades having previously served as Chairman of the Board. He also employs Avenues program participants at his Park Ridge Insurance Company E.J. Coyne Company. A long-time Park Ridge resident, Matt is also involved with the Park Ridge Lions Club and Chamber of Commerce.

Avenues to Independence, started in 1953, currently serves nearly 200 adults with developmental disabilities and their families. Based in Park Ridge, Avenues also has programs in Wheeling, Des Plaines, Niles, and Chicago.
