Blues music kicks off summer concert series in downtown Aurora

Wednesdays at the Plaza, a free summer concert series, kicks off with two weeks of blues music to celebrate Blues Week and Blues on the Fox in Aurora.

Jake Mack and the Lesser Stags perform at 7 p.m. on June 14, and the Empty Can Band performs at 7 p.m. on June 21.

Jake Mack and the Lesser Stags, a group of talented local musicians playing tasteful covers and original Jake Mack, blues-tinged tunes. Mack is joined by Adam Gardner on bass and vocals, Sam Hubbell on lead guitar and vocals, and Justin O'Connell on drums.

The six-member Empty Can Band plays a popular variety of blues, rock, folk, and everything in between. Their contagious sound and ability to jam has made them a regional favorite.

The concert series is held at the gazebo at Millennium Plaza, 21 S. Stolp Ave. from June 14 to Aug. 16. The series is sponsored by City of Aurora, Aurora Downtown, Downtown Auroran Magazine, and several local businesses.
