Knights of Columbus to host free throw competition

The Knights of Columbus from Holy Rosary Council 4483 in Arlington Heights will host a local competition for Free Throw Championship Monday, Jan. 16, at Our Lady of Wayside Catholic Church, 432 S. Mitchell, Arlington Heights.

Girls and boys ages 9-14 can participate and will compete in their respective age divisions. Age eligibility is determined by the age of the contestant as of Jan. 1, 2017. Winners will progress through district, regional, and state competitions.

All contestants on the Council level will receive certificates for their participation in the event. Champions will receive medals for their respective age division.

Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written parental or guardian consent. Entry forms are available on the day of the event. (Parent's signature is proof of age at the local council level, however, written proof is required for the district, regional and state levels.)
