Marmion Academy to host Junior High Honor Band

Marmion Academy, 1000 Butterfield Road in Aurora, will host its annual Junior High Honor Band for students in sixth to eighth grade on Sunday, Jan. 22.

Check-in is at noon; enter through door No. 7. Rehearsal begins at 12:30 p.m.

Pizza will be served to participants prior to the 6:30 p.m. concert which is open to the public. Parents are welcome to attend rehearsals, tour Marmion Academy's campus, and visit with Marmion Academy and Rosary High School parents who will be on hand throughout the day.

Register for the Junior High Honor Band at www.marmion.org/honorband prior to Wednesdays, Dec. 14. Indicate on the registration form what part the student usually performs.

Registrants will receive a confirmation email with a .pdf attachment of the music for the concert. Attire, schedule and other details can be found on the registration site. It also will be included in the confirmation email.

Students participating in the Junior High Honor Band will have the opportunity to work with Marmion and Rosary students during sectional rehearsals.

Marmion Academy Band Director René Rosas will then rehearse the full band in preparation for 6:30 p.m. concert.

This is a great opportunity for students to meet musicians from other schools and have a fun musical experience!
