Blue Christmas Service at Prince of Peace offers time to reflect

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Schaumburg will host a Blue Christmas Service on Saturday, December 17, at 4:00 pm. for the second year in a row.

The service is designed to be more reflective than some other Christmas events.

"Some folks simply need a break from their holiday stress," said Peter Hellstedt, senior pastor at Prince of Peace. "Others struggle with the merriment of the holidays due to sadness or loss."

"Blue Christmas is not like a full-length Sunday service," said Hellstedt. "We'll use music and quiet reflection to offer the peace, comfort, and hope of the news of Jesus' birth."

The service is especially designed with the wider community in mind, not just the members of the church.

All are invited. Refreshments will be served following the service.

The church is located just east of Hoffman Estates High School, at 930 West Higgins Road. For more information, please call 847-885-7010, or visit www.princeofpeace.net.
