WGN legends Steve King, Johnnie Putman discuss jazz great Les Paul Dec. 3

Steve King and Johnnie Putman will discuss their book, "A Little More Les," at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave. in Elgin.

The book features conversations, photos and memories from their treasured 18-year friendship with Les Paul. Each week, he phoned them in the early hours of Tuesdays after he returned to his New Jersey home from his Monday night shows at the famed Iridium Jazz Club in Manhattan.

After Paul died in 2009, Steve and Johnnie created a weekly tribute by re-airing interview highlights with him.

"A Little More Les" became a "must-hear" feature on WGN Radio. Their book will highlight the "best of," including never-told stories from the man who invented the electric guitar.

The program is part of Gail Borden Library's "Author on the Fox" series, which puts local authors in the spotlight.

Book signing and sales will take place for a special library discounted price of $20.

To register for the program, visit www.gailborden.info, call (847) 429-4597 or stop by the main library or the branch.
