No injuries in I-90 rollover

A two-vehicle crash on westbound I-90 Sunday afternoon looked serious, Illinois State Police said, but nobody was injured when one car rolled over and shut down the road temporarily.

The crash happened at 2:45 p.m. near Barrington Road and involved a gray 2011 Kia sport utility vehicle and a 2013 blue Toyota sedan, Master Sgt. Heather Poerio said.

"The call came in that it looked bad, but it turned out that there were no injuries," she said. "(The report said) it looks like one vehicle is on top of the other vehicle."

One vehicle rolled, blocking the left two lanes of I-90 for about 30 minutes. All three lanes were temporarily closed while emergency vehicles responded, she said.

"The construction zone is there, and people drive too fast," Poerio said. "That would be my guess. People are driving too fast and not paying attention."
