Disney to lend magical touch to ESO holiday concerts

The Elgin Symphony Orchestra will offer two exciting weekends at the Hemmens Cultural Center in Elgin to get you in the holiday spirit.

Let the ESO take you to another time and place with the "Magical Music of Disney," conducted by Stephen Squires, at 1:30 and 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at the Hemmens, 45 Symphony Way, Elgin.

Bring the entire family out for music and films from Disney favorites like "Mary Poppins," "Frozen," "The Lion King" and more. This family-friendly concert is great for all ages. There will be Disney movie clips and the music from Disney movies - old and new. This concert will feature fun narration alongside the orchestra performing familiar Disney music. Kids are welcome to dress up in their favorite costume. Tickets are $25-$35.

Then, at 1:30 and 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, hear holiday favorites like "Little Drummer Boy," "Go Tell It on the Mountain," "Silent Night," "Sleigh Ride," selections from the Nutcracker, an audience singalong and so much more at the "Magical Holiday Concerts." Tickets are $30-$50.

Enjoy musical holiday favorites at this festive concert and make memories with the entire family. Once again, the Elgin Symphony Orchestra presents the Magical Holiday Concerts this year. These concerts are favorited by audience members and sell out quickly. ESO will be joined on stage by the Elgin Master Chorale, the Elgin Children's Chorus and dancers from Midwest Dance Collective in a holiday spectacular that will be fun for the whole family. This season, the ESO brings the talented Miss Illinois 2014 and soprano Marisa Buchheit to the stage.
