Dundee historical society to host annual Christmas sale Dec. 5

The Dundee Township Historical Society will hold its annual Christmas sale during the Dickens in Dundee celebration. The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 410 W. Main St. in West Dundee.

It is a great place to find new, gently used, and vintage Christmas items sold at reasonable prices.

When making end-of-the-year donations, remember the Dundee Township Historical Society Museum. It houses artifacts and information about the community's past and keeps the memories alive so they are not lost for future generations. It is who we are whether we grew up in Dundee Township or not, we are here now and it is home.

It does come with a cost. Funded through membership dues, fundraisers, grants and donations we pay for repairs and renovations to a building almost 90 years old, utilities, insurance, general maintenance, etc.

Over the last few years, they have replaced the decades-old museum hot water heater and seal coated the driveway. They have come almost to the end of our project which is to replace 27 windows and five doors in the museum. They are short $1,300 to conclude this project with the last two of five doors. They would gladly welcome any membership contributions to finish this ambitious project.

Understanding our past gives us a sense of being and helps us to enrich ourselves and our community. Please consider making a charitable donation this year.
