Fox Lake's Cardboard Boat Cup Regatta

Boat races have made the Chain O' Lakes famous, and now Fox Lake is pleased to provide its own.

For $30, participants can receive a boat building kit to enter Fox Lake's Cardboard Boat Cup Regatta as a competitor. Kits are now available at the village hall, 66 Thillen Drive, Fox Lake, for off-site boat building.

Registration and on-site building will begin at 8 a.m. on Aug. 16. Both on- and off-site building include the following five categories.

• Ages 10 and under

• Ages 11-14

• Ages 15-20

• Ages 21 and older

• Business entries

Life preservers aren't provided, but are mandatory. This is an event for the whole family, with food, games, vendors, and a DJ.
