Bad weather, Hawks traffic make evening commute rough
A perfect storm of bad weather and traffic heading to watch the Chicago Blackhawks last night caused some dicey commutes. Metra experienced delays, and ramps from the inbound Eisenhower Expressway to outbound Dan Ryan Expressway were shut down due to flooding. Several communities reported localized flooding, including Carol Stream, Glendale Heights, and Elmhurst. Full story.
Downstate man gets 16 years for raping sisters in DuPage County
A Decatur man was sentenced yesterday to 16 years in prison for repeatedly raping his twin 8-year-old cousins in their DuPage County house. Their older sister testified at the hearing that she was also molested by Donald Nuckles, who was convicted during a March bench trial. Full story.
Elgin gunshot victim identified
A man found Sunday in Elgin with a fatal gunshot wound was identified yesterday as Elgin resident Rueben Duncan, 31. An autopsy performed yesterday confirmed the gunshot wound as the preliminary cause of death. Full story.
