Boy Scouts Lead Winfield Memorial Day Ceremony

Winfield Boy Scout Troop 575 led the Village's annual Memorial Day Ceremony Monday morning at Creekside Park. The event included readings, a flag-raising ceremony, the laying of flowers, and comments from guest speaker and Winfield resident David Russ. Russ served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

The ceremony was followed by a pancake breakfast at St. John the Baptist Church with proceeds benefiting Alex Novak, a Boy Scout from the troop who was seriously injured in a bicycle/automobile accident.
