Men's chorus to debut original musical

The Fox Valley Men of Harmony chorus will debut "Reflections," an original musical, at their 69th annual Spring Show at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at First United Methodist Church, 216 E. Highland Ave. in downtown Elgin.

The featured guest quartet will be Tribute, the 2014 Illinois District Seniors Quartet Champions. Champion boys and girls quartets Fermata Nowhere and Quadraharmonics will reprise their winning sound.

Local quartets - Clef Hangers, Golden Chords and Mood Makers - also will perform.

Doug Smith, Fox Valley Men of Harmony musical director and multiple-time district quartet champion, will lead the chorus through this reflection of a golden 50-year period of music from 1920-1970.

For show tickets, contact Jack Wine at (815) 459-6910 or email to jwine@joltmail.com.

Tickets are $15, $8 for students, or free for those age 5 or younger.

Free, handicap-accessible public parking is available across the street from the church.

The Fox Valley Men of Harmony meet at 7 p.m. Mondays at First United Methodist Church, 216 E. Highland Ave. in Elgin. No music background is needed, just a love for singing. To learn more about the chorus, visit www.foxvalleymenofharmony.com or follow them on Facebook.
