Saint Paul Lutheran, State Champs!
The 7th & 8th Grade Lady Comets, from Saint Paul Lutheran School in Mount Prospect, won the Lutheran School State Championship on Sunday, March 8th. The Lutheran State Basketball Tournament has been held at Saint Peter Lutheran in Arlington Heights and Trinity Lutheran Roselle for the past 30 years. The Comets came into the tournament seeded 2nd with an overall record of 23-1. During the tournament they defeated Immanuel Oakwville 44-11, Saint Peter Arlington Heights 29-24, Concordia Peoria 44-33, and Immanuel Palatine 33-31 in overtime for the Championship. The Comets finish the season 27-1 their best finish in the history of the school.
