Judson to host health fair

Judson University's Health Nutrition and Community Health classes invite the Elgin community to join them for a Health and Vitality Fair from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, March 12, in the foyer and Room 101 of the Lindner Fitness Center, 1151 N. State St., Elgin.

Numerous health and wellness vendors will be on hand to answer questions and pass out materials. There will also be a presentation on health and vitality through wellness from 11 a.m. to noon. The event is free and open to the public.

The Health and Vitality Fair is part of Elgin's area-wide March Into Health month, an annual program to promote physical activity. The March Into Health program is coordinated by Activate Elgin, an organization that works to engage the community to provide all residents with opportunities to improve their health, well-being, and quality of life. This is Judson's fourth year partnering with Activate Elgin for the March Into Health initiative.

"Engaging the Judson community through March into Health, and specifically the Health and Vitality Fair, we hope to increase awareness of wellness at Judson University," said Judson's exercise and sport sciences professor Cathy Headley, who coordinates the university's partnership with Activate Elgin. She also teaches the Health Nutrition and Community Health classes that are hosting the Health and Vitality Fair. "This is an exciting opportunity for our community to make healthy lifestyle choices and learn about Wellness."
