Two charged in Warrenville gas station robbery

A Batavia man and a Roselle woman have been charged with robbing a Mobil gas station in Warrenville, police said Wednesday.

Jason A.J. DeVincent, 29, and Amanda A. Hicks, 28, each were charged with one count of aggravated robbery, authorities said. DeVincent's last known address was on the 500 block of Stewart Street in Batavia and Hicks' last known address was on Brendon Court in Roselle, authorities said.

Police said the armed robbery took place shortly after 10 a.m. Monday when DeVincent entered the station at 28W050 Warrenville Road, showed a handgun and demanded money from the cashier, police said.

Police said DeVincent left the scene in a white, two-door vehicle driven by a woman, who they now believe was Hicks.

Detectives quickly identified the two possible suspects and shared that information with other police departments in the region.

An Elk Grove Village police officer saw the getaway vehicle in a motel parking lot around 3 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said. The suspects were taken into custody a short time later when police saw them leave their motel room and start to load belongings in the trunk.

DeVincent is being held without bond in the DuPage County jail. Hicks's bail was set at $150,000.
