East Maine District 63 Preschool: A Fun Place to Grow!

Looking for a great place for your young child to learn, make friends, and have fun? Open up a world of wonder at East Maine District 63 Community Preschool! From art projects and music to outdoor activities, the Community Preschool offers children who live in District 63 a research-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum that enhances language, motor, and social skills; promotes independence; and prepares them for kindergarten! Applications are now being accepted.

In each classroom highly-qualified state-certified teachers provide a wide range of hands-on experiences and creative activities. Offered Monday-Friday during the school year, two-and-a-half hour sessions are available in the morning or afternoon at Melzer School in Morton Grove and Apollo School in Des Plaines. East Maine District 63 Preschool follows all state and federal guidelines applicable to the school district itself. Children may be accepted throughout the school year once they turn three years old. Tuition for the 2015-2016 school year is $2,850.

East Maine School District 63 serves a diverse population of more than 3,590 students who live in portions of Des Plaines, Niles, Glenview, Park Ridge, and Morton Grove. The district operates six elementary schools (Pre-K-6), and a junior high school (grades 7-8). More than 65 languages are spoken within the district; approximately 80 percent of the students come from homes in which a language other than English is spoken. District 63 is an inclusive district, offering a full range of services for academic, social, emotional, and physical growth - including cutting edge special education and ESL/bilingual programs. Together, all students strive to reach their full potential with the help of the District's highly skilled staff.
