Food truck at Little Free Library ribbon-cutting

The Noble Carrot Little Free Library is open for use. This is a community library open to all. Stop by, borrow a book, return that one or a different one and borrow another.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at noon Saturday, Oct. 11, at The Noble Carrot Co-op store, 230 Reinking Road in Pingree Grove. There will be entertainment, refreshments sold by the "Food Truck Wars" winner Glutton Force 5, which is known for their Taco in a Bag.

They would like to acknowledge Gary and Diane Meyer, Kurt Kurlek, Girl Scout Troop 580, everyone who has donated books, time and money to get this neighborhood library off the ground.

The Noble Carrot Co-op are excited to be the stewards for the Little Free Library "The Carrot" Charter 14936 on behalf of their neighbors and community.

Little Free Library books are always a gift - never for sale.

The community is also welcome to browse the co-op store for any local, organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, produce or products that are offered.

The Noble Carrot Co-op Inc., an Illinois nonprofit entity, is a group of people who are looking to: meet basic needs as locally and economically as possible without sacrificing quality or experience; increase self-reliance and resiliency; and build a joyful community through collaboration and cooperation.

Its mission is to grow a local living economy, to educate the community, to preserve the past, and to plant the seeds of innovation.
