Mental health group to host speakers

National Alliance on Mental Illness-DeKalb, Kane-South & Kendall Counties is sponsoring its monthly coffee from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11.

This free event will be held at NOVO Counseling: Renewing Joy in Life, 56 W. State St., Suite B, Sycamore. The topic will be "Food for Thought: Promoting Healthy and Happy Brains."

The speakers will be Jamie Palmer, a licensed clinical professional counselor, and Natasha Kiefer, AMFT. Palmer has be working with individuals, couples, and businesses for the past 35 years specializing in interpersonal relationships, personality, brain change, self-esteem, anxiety, all areas of mediation, and business performance issues. Kiefer is a graduate of Wheaton College and holds a master of arts degree in marriage and family therapy. She specializes in relational issues, life transitions, anxiety/depression and adolescents.

National Alliance on Mental Illness-DeKalb, Kane-South & Kendall Counties is an affiliate of the nation's largest grass-roots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. It advocates for access to services, treatment, supports and research. It is steadfast in its commitment to raise awareness and build a community for hope for all of those in need.
