Come out to lend a hand at Cary Main Street Fest

Cary Main Street is need of volunteers for the upcoming Cary Main Street Fest from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28. There are lots of shifts available. If you are able to volunteer to work one shift that would be great. You will get a T-shirt, food, drink ticket and after party.

The outdoor fall festival, held along Main Street, will feature local restaurants and businesses, a marketplace of vendors and artists, live entertainment and a children's area to celebrate all that Cary has to offer. The multifaceted event serves up something for everyone.

There will be a variety of craft beers and wines to complement the flavors of spice, apple and pumpkin that will augment the menus of participating eateries.

A fine arts component will showcase the talents of local artists, featuring live art creation and interactive displays.

There will be lineup of lively entertainment on the main stage, while the family stage highlights theater, dance and other interactive children's programming.

At noon Saturday, the festival will open with the Althea Grace Band with Algonquin's Thea Roggenbuck who won the 2012 McHenry County Fair's junior talent contest. August Hotel, the 2014 winner of the Cary Area Battle of the Band, will follow at 1:30 p.m. and Bourbon Country, a country band from Crystal Lake, at 3 p.m. At 4:30 p.m., the band GENR8R will take the stage, followed by Pirates Over 40 and their tropical rock music at 6:15 p.m. and Sugar High, a high-energy party rock band, at 8 p.m.

On Sunday, Kent Rose and the Remedies will perform at 11:30 a.m., followed by The Marquis Brothers from Cary performing acoustic folk rock at 1 p.m. and Alex and the Allstars, a four-member rock band from Fox River Grove, at 2:45 p.m. The festival will close with dance party band Libido Funk Circus at 4:15 p.m. and Heartache Tonight, the Eagles tribute band, at 7 p.m.
