Kaneland board continues search for new superintendent

The Kaneland Unit District 302 board of education will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at the district's administrative office in Maple Park, (not Harter Middle School in Sugar Grove) to continue working on a transition plan for leadership of the Kaneland district.

As Superintendent Jeff Schuler prepares to depart Kaneland for his new post in Wheaton Warrenville Unit District 200 on Sept. 2, the board is considering options to fulfill both the immediate needs of the district and ensure its long-term success. For that reason, the board is seeking an interim superintendent to temporarily fill the vacancy, and will begin the search for a permanent replacement in the fall.

According to board president Cheryl Krauspe, "The selection of a superintendent for the Kaneland District is the most significant decision that our school board can make. In order to hire the best fit for our district, the process should be very careful, thoughtful and thorough hard work, with input from all segments of the educational community and its stakeholders."

As the district prepares for these new changes, the administrative team and dedicated teachers and staff are ready to lead Kaneland students into another successful school year, and continue their commitment to graduate all Kaneland students college, career, and community ready.

Details of the superintendent search process will be shared with the community as they become available.
