It's the height of the painting season and the Chicago Paint & Coating Association would like to remind you that there is still plenty of time to enter "Chicago's Finest Painted Ladies & Her Court Competition."

This "Beauty Contest" for houses is now in its 28th year and has honored more than 200 winners of beautifully repainted houses. It is also open for businesses, house additions and any structure that has added color to its presence. The painting project must be completed by Labor Day, Sept. 1.

The contest not only covers Chicago but an area within 50 miles of Chicago. There are two sections: professionally and non-professionally painted structures. They are judged by professional judges.

The submissions must have been painted between Labor Day 2013 and Labor Day 2014. While repainting your home this summer, consider entering this "Labor of Love," for this very special award.

The entries are judged, among other things, how the color fits the structure and how the project fits the neighborhood. In some instances entire neighborhoods have been inspired to rebeautify.

The winners will be notified and then invited to an Awards Dinner presented by the Chicago Paint & Coatings Association at a major restaurant, that will feature a major speaker. Winners will receive awards, including an enlarged and framed photo of the winner while the grand prize winner will received an engraved plaque.

Please call the Chicago Paint & Coatings Association at (847) 240-0102 for an entry form or visit their website,, where you can see photos of previous winners.
