Arlington Sunset Rotary raises $2,780 for veterans in Flag Day event

The Rotary Club of Arlington Heights Sunset and over 60 guests celebrated Flag Day in spectacular fashion at the home of Rosanna and John Glueckert: by raising over $2,750 to support local veterans.

The Sunset club's Flag Day/Wine Tasting event on June 14 also attracted 67 guests to enjoy wines provided by Tuscan Market. In addition, colors were presented by the American Legion Merle Guild Post 208 award-winning color guard with a solemn display of the folding of the American Flag and its history.

Following that, Sunset Club Administrator, Bev Palmer, led the entire party to join in for a rousing rendition of God Bless America.

To top it all off, Rotary Sunset Treasurer, Jan Acquafredda, was proud to present to Salute, Inc. founders Will and MaryBeth Beiersdorf the final tally of $2,780 to the organization that helps meet the needs of local military service veterans.
