Artists encouraged to apply for show in downtown Elgin

Time is running out for artists to apply to Art & Soul on the fox, to be held in downtown Elgin on Aug. 2-3.

It is a juried fine art and artisan show that will have up to $2,000 in cash and purchase awards from Art for All. They are still seeking painters, photographers and fine art artisans. They will be accepting late applications until July 1.

Go to www.artandsoulonthefox.weebly.com to download an application.

The next general meeting for Art for All will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 18. The program for the evening will be "Critiques by George."

Art for All, an Elgin-area art league now 60-plus members strong, has monthly meetings on the third Wednesday of the month. This month's meeting will be at Epworth United Methodist Church, Randall Road and Highland Avenue in Elgin. They encourage all artists to join. All skill levels are welcome, even non-artists or those who like to learn more about art.

Art for All has rotating exhibits at several locations in Elgin where members display their artwork. Visit www.artforall-elgin.com.
