Before the Downtown Elgin Harvest Market - Presented by Alexian Brothers Health System -reaches full bloom this June, the Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin is taking the Harvest Market on the road to preview indoors at the Elgin's Grand Victoria Casino - this year's entertainment sponsor.

The "Pop Up" Harvest Market will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 29, inside the pavilion of Grand Victoria Casino, 250 S. Grove Ave. in downtown Elgin.

The Pop Up Market will be a "sampler size" version of the Downtown Neighborhood Association (DNA) of Elgin's normal Downtown Elgin Harvest Market, which opens Thursday, June 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 200 N. Grove Ave. in downtown Elgin and runs every Thursday for 18 weeks.

Grand Victoria Casino guests will taste a few of the many fresh, local products available at the market. Vendors to expect are Breadsmith (bread from St. Charles), D&A Bee Yard (honey from Carol Stream), Troggs Hollow Farm (produce from Elgin and Poplar Grove), and Windy Acre Crafts (soaps and lotions handmade here in Elgin).

Also new in the works will be the addition of the Downtown Elgin Harvest Market going indoors, and at night, at the Grand Victoria Casino once a month over the summer on June 19, July 17, Aug. 21, and Sept. 18 from 4 to 7 p.m.
