Aurora Resident Honored at Soroptimist Reception

On Saturday, May 17th, Soroptimist International of Suburban Chicago (SISC) recognized local women for their volunteerism and academic achievements at a celebration at the Hi View Restaurant, Villa Park.

Salitria Smith is the winner of this year's SISC G.E.D. Grant which recognizes the efforts to pursue General Education Development certification. She is currently taking courses at Waubonsee Community College and preparing for the test later this year. Ms. Smith wants to get her license as a pharmacy tech, plus pursue college level courses at Aurora College.
