Church to hold Spring Fling fundraiser in May

The Society of St. Vincent De Paul at St. Mary's Church in Elgin will hold its Spring Fling fundraiser May 17-18. Donations from businesses of items or gift certificates to be used as raffle prizes are sought.

The conference is made up entirely of volunteers with 99 percent of donations going directly toward helping others. This past year, the society made more than 950 home visits and were able to assist almost 500 different families with necessities such as rent, utilities, food, clothing, prescriptions and transportation.

Since the council is a nonprofit organization, anything you donate will be fully tax-deductible.

All donations will be acknowledged during the raffle. In order to add your company name and donation to the Raffle Preview List which will sent to all parishioners in mid-April, donations should be sent no later than Thursday, April 10.
